In-House Software

In providing consulting services and project designing for our clients, CMS Prodex uses a wide palette of commercial specialist programs of the world famous manufacturers in this field. When we were not satisfied with the offered situations, or there were no solutions at all, our experts, in cooperation with our team for software development, have developed their own software solutions. The very important role in this had, and still doe, our clients.

Further bellow there is a short description of some of these solutions which will be soon presented in our standard commercial offer.

Production Data Base (PDB)

It is a well known fact that production data used for analysis of oil wells and reservoirs performance (pressure and production data, etc.) are not the data registered over short periods of time, but are mostly historical data.

The purpose of PDB is to provide a tool for fast and proper registration of these production and operation data, and make them available in any moment for prompt analyses. PDB can be easily used for predicting wells and reservoirs’ behavior. All the data on wells entered on daily basis and generated on monthly basis are used for a quick view of the potential production problems and their efficient resolving.

Decline analysis can be used for predicting future well and reservoir behavior, cost evaluation of the so-called economic limit under certain conditions. The primary objective of decline analysis is to "detect" a proper trends and to establish if they follow the conventional decline modes, such as exponential, harmonic and hyperbolic.

Beside this, PDB will improve production reporting, by providing enhanced report forms.

Sucker Rod Comprehensive Design, Optimization and Trouble Analysis

An innovative software for analyzing sucker rod pumping system performance, for designing surface and underground equipment, and for diagnosing the performance by application of dynamograms and acoustic measuring of fluid level. A software package allow designers and analysts to formulate complete analyses and diagnoses of sucker rod pumping system. Program uses a specific number of structured databases, of which some are inventory data (databases of pump beams, sucker rods, sucker rod pumps, electric motors - of different manufacturers), while others contain data which depend on actual working conditions in real time (production and pressures measured on the surface, recorded dynamograms and sonolog, etc.).

Handling of Water Injection Process

We developed the program in order to successfully handle the problems related to water injection/disposal process, to predict an eventually scaling tendency and to analyze well injection performance. It is a tool in projecting new or optimization of the existing injection/disposal wells. Software package consists of three main models: Chemical model, Reservoir behavior predicting model and Nodal analysis.

Chemical Model was developed for predicting sulfate and carbonate scaling problems caused by water composition, temperature and pressure changes. It is possible to determine compatibility between different waters upon mixing (for example if different source waters are mixing) and compatibility between injection water and water from the injection/disposal wells.

Reservoir Behavior Predicting Model enables prediction of the reservoir injection characteristics for different formation damages (values of skin effects) and injection time to be estimated. It was assumed that the reservoirs are bounded and of finite volumes. The main feature of this model is its possibility to estimate water injection quantities for given injection pressures.

Nodal Analysis provides a system approach to the optimization of the injection process by evaluating the complete injection system, including surface pipelines, wellbore and reservoir, assuming the minimum pressure drop in every component of the system. These components are then combined to optimize the entire system to obtain the most efficient injection rate.

CO2 Corrosion Prediction and Analysis

CO2 corrosion of carbon steel materials is one of the main corrosion mechanisms encountered in the oil and gas industry. Program enables corrosion rate calculation in oil and gas production and process systems where the corrosive agent is CO2. The purpose is to determine sites the most prone to internal corrosion in pipelines carrying gas, condensate/oil and water. The program includes calculation of corrosion rate of carbon steel in water containing CO2 at different temperatures, pH values, CO2 partial pressures and wall shear stresses. Program is a helpful tool for material selection, prediction of corrosion under existing conditions and can be used as a part of monitoring of corosion process.
